About the Author

Allen and his wife, Janice, reside in Franklin, TN. He earned a B.S. Degree in Accounting from the University of South Carolina and is a graduate of the Executive MBA program from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. He has also earned professional credentials as a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant.

Allen is not your typical Rubik's Cube enthusiast since he is a member of the "Baby Boomer" generation. He purchased his first cube in 1981 amid the hysterical mania that was sweeping many countries around the world (with more adults than kids participating).

After his initial interest in the cube waned, Allen did not pick up the cube again until 2006. Once more he confronted the difficult task of trying to memorize the letter-based algorithms which he refers to in the book as "alpha-rithms" to contrast with his "algorith-nums." This is when he developed a simple approach using numbers instead of letters (that referenced the first letter of each side of the cube) to designate cube movement. He applied for and received a copyright for this approach in 2011.

He believes that his approach to defining cube movement will assist thousands of young people currently involved in trying to memorize cube algorithms and encourage some adults to explore the brain exercise benefits associated with solving this unique puzzle now that one of the barriers to its difficulty has been reduced.

To my wife Janice for her support during the lengthy development of this project. We discussed more than once why would someone be interested in paying for something that they can get for free. This encouraged me to think "outside-the-box" to differentiate my training approach from the other programs available in books and websites.

I believe I have accomplished this with the introduction of Algorith-nums® to define cube movement (Copyright 2011). In addition to this feature, I also included: a comprehensive training program (Beginner to Advanced); numerous memory assist features; and presented these in a convenient informal training guide format.

This all-inclusive approach to the introduction of Rubik's Cube allows you to see the multi-layers of the Cube as well as benefit from the brain stimulation aspects of applying different solution algorithms to the various solution paths.
